Sec. Antony Blinken Cautions State Dept. About ‘Misgendering’

With war raging overseas, tensions rising with China and crime and fentanyl flooding across our own southern border, you can rest assured that Sec. Antony Blinken is focused on the most important threat facing the United States: misgendering.

On Feb. 5 — just days after an Iranian drone strike killed three American soldiers — Blinken sent a cable to State Department reminding them of their duty to perpetuate radical gender ideology. Just maybe not in those terms.

Making assumptions about another person’s gender identity based on their appearance or name “can be problematic” and send a “harmful, exclusionary message,” the memo explained. Blinken also asked his staff to avoid using common gendered terms like “mother/father,” “son/daughter,” and “husband/wife.”

National Review recently confirmed the authenticity of the cable — titled “Modeling DEIA: Gender Identity Best Practices.” So as much as we’d like this to be satire, it’s not.

The purpose of the cable was to “increase understanding of gender identity and provide guidance on gender identity language and best practices that support an inclusive work environment.”

Blinken’s note describes gender as a social construct and gender identity as a person’s “innermost concept of self as masculine, feminine, a blend of both, or neither.”

He’d also like employees to include their preferred pronouns in their email signatures and announce them when introducing themselves at meetings. He lists “ze/zir” as a commonly used pronoun.

And don’t you dare use problematic terms like “manpower,” “you guys” or “ladies and gentlemen.”

“When speaking, avoid using phrases like ‘brave men and women on the front lines,’” the cable adds, suggesting that staffers “use more specific language such as ‘brave first responders,’ ‘brave soldiers,’ or ‘brave DS agents.’”

Blinken also wants to remind his employees that gender identity may be “fluid,” so make sure you pay attention when people’s pronouns change from day to day.

Our enemies are truly laughing at us.

“As the world burns, the Biden admin is focused on the really important stuff,” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz wrote on X. “These people are nuts.”

Nuts, indeed. And they’re in charge of our foreign relations.

You feel safe now, don’t you?
